One of my 2011 New Year’s resolution is to participate more photo shooting events whenever is possible as part my continuous improvement (Kaizen) and learning process.
The first event for the year is the “Chinese New Year" Portraits Shooting Competition organized by EOS DSLR Malaysia. The Competition Theme for this event is beauty, happiness, wealth and longevity
Competition will be divided into 2 sessions, outdoor and studio style (indoor).
Each Participant must submit 3 of their best photos of each session (total of 6 photos). A panel of judges will judge all entries. The judges will select the twelve photographs (the 'Finalists') which, in their opinion; best illustrate the theme of the competition.
The panel judges will also consider a range of factors as follows:
i. Composition
ii. Technical Ability
iii. Originality
iv. Interpretation of the theme
v. Creativity
With luck for the New Year, one of my Studio shot was selected as the 2nd prizewinner for indoor Studio session. This is certainly to my surprise!
#1: Model : Angel Won (Awarded 2nd Prize - Studio Session)

The studio session was one of my shortest studio sessions ever and it’s only last for merely 15 mins and a total of less than 30 shots taken. (What a new experience to me.)
Anyway, I must acknowledge my appreciation to EOS DSLR Malaysia Club for organizing such a wonderful event and panel judges for their selection. Special thanks to Young-Sun (EyeDear Studio) for his kind remarks especially the photo are slightly over exposed.
#2: Team B...
#2: Studio Session - 2nd Prize: Sandisk 16GB SDHC / CF Card
#3: A new 16GB CF card for the New Year of 2011...A good Start
