Just a brief recapped. I briefly talk about the scale of this year Motor show and further discuss about the impact of mixed lighting that influence the camera exposure setting in my first two parts of this series.
Lately, I received some positive feedback on the subject of composition. I appreciate all the compliments in this regards.
Before I attempt to discuss further on composition, I must first admit that I do not have in depth experience compared to my runway photography to enable me to share knowledge about composition in this area. But again, I think the rules of composition are basically similar between the two.
Perhaps, I can share some of my initial thoughts and what I want to my final works to be when I first step into the hall. Firstly, I walk around few main exhibition booths to access the lighting conditions and to observe the model's posing positions.
With that, I usually fired few test shots (start with my lovely wife posing beside the car, off course) to ascertain the correct camera exposure. This part is vita (IMHO) to any event photographers to ensure that the camera's white balance, ISO and exposure setting are working to their indivudual preference.

From the observation, I know I must get a clearer simple background and the only way to avoid the busy background is to shoot from a lower angle. I just make sure that I do not place my camera too low to avoid any unnecessary misunderstanding from the model at work. (You know, miniskirt thing !)
I think it's a basic manners whenever a portrait or event photographer point their camera towards any female model.
Usually, female model will appreciate and feel more comfortable once she notice a photographer is respecting their work. It's that mutual respect that enable me to capture some of very exclusive eyes contact photos as displayed in these articles.
When completed your shots, always return a smile and show your appreciation to the model for her hard works before looking into the LCD. I strongly believe that whenever you return to her again later , she will remember you and thus you get some really stunning eyes contact and friendly smile.

It seems like the basic techniques of composition is very simple. But to capture the true friendly smile, eye contact is far exceeded than merely maintaining an appropriate viewing angle, simple background and placing the model at the correct position following the rules of composition.
That's just some of my little tricks employed, I'm sorry if I do not touch on the composition but I think a photo with friendly smile and eyes contact is far greater than any photos that follow strictly the rules of composition.
As one of the famous Japanese photographer ~ Araki Nobuyoshi said: " I spend half of my life in searching the perfect composition, the sad outcome is, there are just not important at all!"
